You have such an incredible, special thing going on at Hillel. It's perfect. Not only am I thrilled Avi gets to grow in that kind of atmosphere, I am also beyond happy and excited to become a part of the Hillel community myself. It's a special place to be a part of and I see and feel that. Your approach to teaching should be commended and couldn't make me happier as a mother. Lately I have been meeting Hillel families and mothers. All of whom are extremely dedicated to Hillel and what you do. When you described the space as a home to the children that is the feeling that I got walking through the school. Yes, it is a place to learn but it feels like a home.

Being a Hillel graduate myself I understand the identity that Hillel helps create for the kids. It provides them with all the tools for them to become successful and whatever they decide to do in life. Having a Jewish identity is also very important to us and having that being part of their daily routine enforces all the traditions and values that come along with realizing their Jewish identity. Attending Hillel will reinforce all of these traditions, while teaching them WHY we do these things. The knowledge of the teachers and the camaraderie of the students, along with the technology and infrastructure that Hillel has created, ensures the students reach their maximum potential.

Hillel Day School has always been a positive environment for all of our children. The teachers work individually with each student to help them learn and grow in the best way for them. This matches with how we work with our children in our household.

Our oldest child began Hillel in 2012. Since that time, our experience with Hillel is that it is a dynamic, fun-filled school that promotes so much more than just learning. The staff and students are excited about being there and there is a genuine passion for kids and learning. Our own children are excited for school and they often want to stay longer.

I’m writing to give you an update on our move to Florida and to let you know how things are going. Our transition was a little rocky, but what I really want to share with you is how well the kids have done. Our boys are in a public charter school in Boynton Beach. They both decided, on their own, to enroll themselves in the most advanced classes possible and they are both getting straight As. They are self-motivated and excited to take on new challenges.

Of course, we are very proud of them. However, it is not the point of this communication to brag about our children but to share with you that it is our opinion that none of this would have been possible without the fabulous education our children received at Hillel Day School. Hillel is a VERY special place. I’ve heard people say that the children at Hillel are sheltered and sometimes have difficulty transitioning to the “real world” and public school. I disagree. The teachers, administration and staff dedicate their lives every day to the children that attend Hillel and prepare them for the real world in so many ways and I believe our children are proof that that is the case.

We want to personally thank you and all the teachers and staff at Hillel Day School for all you did for our kids and our family. Since we have been in Florida, I’ve come to realize how special our Michigan community is to us and how special we are to them. Thanks for all you have done for our family!

With three kids at the ECC, Hillel is already an integral part of our lives. We did explore other schools, but the academic possibilities at Hillel - particularly with regard to the school's facilities, technology, and student-to-teacher ratio - present the best opportunity for our children to thrive. We are incredibly impressed with Hillel's constant efforts to be on the cutting edge. The teachers and administrators are the best - and there are plenty of them. Beyond this the security staff, facilities staff and other school staff all reveal a thoughtful approach to hiring at every level and every position.

I have written and rewritten this letter over and over and the truth is I will never be able to express how each and every person at Hillel Day School has helped shape, inspire and develop Nia into the outstanding person she has become over the last 9 years. There is no doubt in my mind that without each and every person that has had contact with Nia directly in the classroom or just throughout her day she would not be the person she is today. You have all played an important role and helped her get to where she is. The impact that you all have had will stay with her for a lifetime. You have all not only fostered her academic and Judaic soul and spirit but have given her the appetite to learn.
