Welcome to Hillel Day School, a vibrant, joyful, and ambitious Jewish day school; a community filled with passion and built upon core Jewish values.
At Hillel, children acquire the essential skills they need to live a purposeful and meaningful Jewish life and are prepared for a world that is ever-changing economically, socially, and politically. In addition, children engage in authentic learning experiences. The challenges we face in our world today and for the foreseeable future are complex with economic, ethical, and environmental implications. Students at Hillel develop their creativity, are able to think critically, collaborate and communicate effectively, and learn how to learn. These essential skills help them adapt throughout their lives to succeed in the world they will inherit.

Our graduates are ready to take on the real challenges of life and are ready for their exciting and global future. At Hillel, our sacred responsibility is to guide students to embrace and realize the commitment to self and community, and to inspire in them a devotion to Jewish living.

Beginning with the Early Childhood Center, Hillel seamlessly incorporates Jewish ethics and values into the lives of its students. From how our students treat one another to how they work to help those in the greater Detroit community and around the world, Hillel emphasizes the importance of being a good person, an active community member, and a strong and resilient student.

As an academic community open and welcoming to children from every Jewish affiliation, Hillel is committed to preserving our Jewish people through a rich and meaningful Jewish education while embracing an authentic, hands-on, modern general education. All this is made possible by our incredibly talented teaching staff who are consistently ranked at the top as the most caring and committed teachers in a nationwide survey of Jewish day schools. In support of this mission, Hillel provides academic and financial support to all families.
